Something had to change
People sometimes ask me why I do what I do. Many years ago I had some personal problems and I tried everything to fix them, but nothing seemed to work. Sometimes the change lasted for a few weeks but the old habits always returned. I didn’t understand why. I knew what I wanted to do but I didn’t know how. It was frustrating and I felt stuck.
I left a job I did not enjoy, sold my house and decided to do something about it. I wanted to get up in the morning with a smile on my face and look forward to the day ahead. But I also wanted to make a difference and do something that helped other people, making a positive difference to people’s lives became important to me.
Finding Hypnosis and what I wanted to do
I didn’t like the idea of traditional therapy and merely talking about the problem hadn’t helped me at all. I began to look elsewhere and found hypnosis. The first time I was hypnotised was quite special to me. I wasn’t sure what to expect, it felt very normal, I wasn’t asleep and heard every word the hypnotist said but just felt like I was being guided. But then things began to change. I had found a way to change things.
I knew what I wanted to do and knew it worked. I have been doing it ever since and have become passionate about showing people how to change things inside their own minds. The difference I can make to my clients lives is why I do what I do.
Becoming a Hypnotherapist
I trained as an advanced hypnotherapist in 2004 at the Atkinson-Ball College, a specialised clinical hypnosis training school that have been established for over 40 years now. After qualifying I was invited to join the exclusive Corporation of Advanced Hypnotherapy, an organisation that requires advanced training before a hypnotherapist is invited to become a member. I am also listed on the Hypnotherapy Directory.
Since I trained I have continued to develop as a therapist with my own blend of hypnotic techniques and think of myself as a student of hypnosis, how it works and what I can help people achieve with it. It is much more than just helping people stop smoking, much more.
